In Arizona, of the nearly 19,000 children are placed in out-of-home care, 45% are placed with kin — family members who have stepped up to care for these children during this time of crisis. Many of these kin families (often grandparents and great grandparents) are on a fixed incomes and struggle financially to meet the needs of the children in their care. If the kin families become Foster Care Licensed, they will receive additional financial supports, however there are often barriers to becoming licensed.
Boost a Foster Family seeks to assist these families by eliminating the barriers in the licensing process. Our assistance includes providing home safety items, CPR and First Aid training, advocacy, paperwork assistance and more.
On November 27th, Boost a Foster Family is joining the hundreds of thousands of nonprofit organizations to kick off the holiday season with the #GivingTuesday movement.
#GivingTuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in countries around the world. Millions of people have come together to support and support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.
Good news for AZ donors! You may be able to get your donation back on your AZ state tax return. Boost a Foster Family is an AZ Qualified Foster Care Charity, meaning that Arizona residents can receive a tax credit (up to $500 single filers and $100 joint filers). For more info, click here.
Double your impact – Donate through Facebook! This year, Facebook is partnering with PayPal to match donations up to $7 million to US nonprofits on Facebook. Donations up to $250k per nonprofit and $20k per donor are eligible to be matched. Facebook and PayPal will match donations starting at 5am PST on November 27 and continue matching donations to nonprofits until the $7M match runs out. Additionally, Facebook is waiving all fees for donations to nonprofits on #GivingTuesday. (Donate early in the morning to double your donation).
